Understanding Your Struggle
Just Keep Moving — Until Cracks Start to Show
You’ve created an image of a fearless, driven person, and you hide behind it for dear life. But you can only keep running for so long until it all catches up with you.
The Memories Feel Fresh, The Weight Feels Heavy
When the Noise Quiets Down

In the quiet moments — sitting alone in your car, staring at yourself in the mirror — it falls apart. That’s when you hear that whisper in your head, reminding you of all the pain you try to forget. All at once, the weight of the world seems to crash down around you, and you’re left reeling. The memories feel so fresh. Your body and mind react as though it’s all happening right now instead of sometime in the past.
The words they spoke and the silence they left behind echo like inescapable verdicts. Your relationships are strained — like there’s some invisible barrier separating you from everyone else. Hurt taunts you, shame stands in your way, and fear paralyzes you.
Judging yourself, performing for others, and avoiding your pain simply isn’t working. Understanding can. Compassion can. Healing is possible.
What If There Was Another Way?
Meeting Yourself with Kindness

It’s time to recognize where you are now and meet yourself there with kindness and patience. To create something new, real, and lasting that you can be proud of. I know it feels like too much, but you don’t have to do it alone. You were never supposed to.
Or maybe it's helping you by helping them. We can give children and teens a space that’s just theirs — a place where they can begin making sense of overwhelming emotions, so you begin to see glimpses of them again: more connected, more settled, more hopeful.</>
Take a moment. Breathe. Listen deep down. That tiny voice that says life could be different — that’s what brought you here, and that’s enough.

Founder & Licensed Professional Counselor
Hi, I’m Crystal — And I’ve Been Where You Are
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience in the field, and founder of Causeway Counseling. Different story, but the same fear of allowing myself to be vulnerable even when I knew I needed help moving forward. We can help you see yourself in a new light and realize you deserve the same care and kindness you give so freely to others. Together, we’ll navigate the healing process, gently loosening the grip of anxiety and depression, unraveling trauma, and recovering from painful relationships.

Crystal is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and patient. She has a natural ability to connect with people and create a safe, welcoming environment where they feel heard and understood. Her dedication to helping others is truly inspiring, and I have no doubt that her new center will be a place where clients can find the support they need to thrive. Serving as a pastor referring parishoners, and during my family's own season of grief, Crystal has been amazing to work. And everyone we have referred to her have found the help they needed. We couldn't feel more confident referring anyone we know to Crystal and her team.

I will confidently refer friends, families, and colleagues to Causeway Counseling. I will have known Crystal Lawson for 20 years this November. She is an amazing woman with an incredible gift for counseling, recognized by many friends before she went to school for counseling. Being in her presence is therapeutic.\nShe is someone with whom you can share the hardest of life circumstances. I am a school based occupational therapist, and have also had the blessing of having her as a coworker for 5+ years. She is very skilled at working with colleagues, students, and families to create therapeutic environments and interventions.
